differing conditions are found and require additional investigation by the
City/Contractor. The City Wastewater Department will assist using camera
equipment to investigate unknown pipes, but it does take some time for them to stop
their work and arrive on site to investigate the unknown pipe(s). Should the
investigation take longer than 3 hours, the City will work with the Contractor on
negotiating a reasonable hourly compensation for the down time.

Dye tests of the sewer service line may be necessary if determined by the Engineer
where the house connections were not well defined. Such dye tests shall be
performed by the Contractor at no additional expense to the contract. The contractor
should make arrangements with the house/apartment occupants on when to enter to
perform this test.

Unit prices submitted for various items of work will be utilized for determining prices
of any additional work necessary during construction.

Owner reserves the right to delete any item or modify estimated quantities without
penalty. Contractor shall make no claim as to lost profits or added costs due to
quantity adjustments or deletions.

Unit prices listed shall be the basis of cost adjustment for additional items of work
required by a change order.

. All prices shall include transportation and disposal of excess materials as applicable.

Unit and lump sum prices shall reflect salvage value of all pipe materials and
appurtenances removed as part of the work.

All prices shall include costs related to filing and obtaining applicable permits from
local and state agencies.

PART 2 - DESCRIPTION OF PAY ITEMS

2.01 SEWERS COMPLETE IN PLACE

A.

REPLACE EXISTING SEWERS WITH NEW PVC SEWERS:

1. The length of sewers to be replaced shall be paid for under the appropriate

subdivisions of this item and shall be measured by the linear foot along the
completed sewers, including wyes and tees, from centerline of manhole to
centerline of manhole.

2. The linear foot price for this item shall constitute full compensation for

demolition/disposal of the existing sewer and installing a new PVC sewer main
complete in place as indicated on the drawings and/or as specified, including
furnishing all materials, labor, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the
work, including but not limited to handling of existing wastewater flows, bypass-
