PART 1 - GENERAL

Work Included: Furnish and install steam to hot water convertor(s) of type, location,
and capacity as shown on the Drawings.
Related Work Specified Elsewhere: "HVAC - General" is specified in Section 15600;
“Hydronic Heating Systems Piping and Specialties” is specified in Section 15601;
and “Steam Heating Systems Piping and Specialties” is specified in Section 15602.
1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.3 SUBMITTALS TO THE ENGINEER
A.
Submit shop drawings, manufacturer’s data and operating instructions in accordance
with the General Conditions and Sections 01340.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MATERIALS

Unit(s) shall be of 125# ASME Section VIII construction for tube and shell side and
be furnished with cast iron cradles for support.
Carbon steel shell designed for "U" tube bundle construction complete with cast iron
bonnet.
Total water pressure drop through the heater at rated flow shall not exceed 5 feet of
water.
Unit(s) for Domestic Hot Water heating shall have "U" tubes of 3/4" OD seamless
copper tubing with copper alloy supports and copper silicon tube sheet.
Unit(s) for service water heating shall have "U" tubes of 3/4" OD seamless copper
tubing with copper alloy supports, and steel or copper silicon tube sheet.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 INSTALLATION
A.
Install steam to hot water convertor(s) in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
and recommendations as shown on the Drawings.
