JOINT SEALERS
1.8 WARRANTY
A.
Installer to provide five-year warranty to include coverage of installed sealants,
caulking and accessories which fail to achieve air tight and watertight seal, exhibit
loss of adhesion or cohesion, or do not cure.

S-1, Epoxidized Polyurethane Sealant: Multi-component, chemical curing, non-
staining, non-bleeding, non-sagging type; color as selected by Engineer; Dymeric
240 FC, as manufactured by Tremco, Sika Corporation or equal.
1. Durability (Bond and Cohesion) - 25 percent + 40 percent
2. Shore "A" Hardness Range 25
S-2, Polyurethane Sealant: Multi-component, chemical curing, non-staining, non-
bleeding, non-sagging type; color as selected by Engineer; Sikaflex 2C as
manufactured by Sika Corporation, Tremco or equal.
l. Durability (Bond and Cohesion) +/- 50 percent
2. Service Temperature Range - 40 to 170 degrees F
3. Shore "A" Hardness Range 25 (40 for self-leveling)
S-6, Polyurethane Sealant: One component, moisture curing, non-staining, non-
bleeding, non-sagging type; color as selected by Engineer; Sika-flex 1A as
manufactured by Sika Corporation, Tremco or equal.
l. Durability (Bond and Cohesion) + 25 percent
2. Service Temperature - 40 to 170 degrees F
3. Shore A Hardness 40
S-8, Sealants for fire rated assemblies shall be coordinated with Section 07270 -
Fire Stopping.

Primer: Non-staining type, recommended by sealant manufacturer.
Joint Cleaner: Non-corrosive and non-staining type, recommended by sealant
manufacturer; compatible with joint forming materials.
Joint Backing: ASTM D1056; round, closed cell polyethylene foam rod;
oversized 30 to 50 percent larger than joint width; as recommended by sealant
manufacturer.
Bond Breaker: Pressure sensitive tape recommended by sealant manufacturer to
suit application.
