RE: Amendment #1 to Approved FY2023 Capital improvement Program

Mayor Donchess and Board of Aldermen Members:

The Capital Improvement Committee (CIC) unanimously recommended Amendment #1 to the FY2023
Capital lmprovement Program at its meeting of May 23%, 2022. This Amendment includes only one
modification to the approved Plan, the inclusion of West Pearl Streetscaping as a ranked project. That

project received a ranking of B-1 from the Committee.

The project proposes improvements to streetscape elements along the West Pearl Street corridor including,
but not limited to: street tree placement, lighting upgrades, ADA access, and other public realm
enhancements. Proposed improvements are complementary to, but not dependent upon, proposed future
modifications to the Walnut Street Oval and associated traffic circulation patterns.

The Planning Board, at its regularly scheduled meeting of June 2™, 2022, recommended and approved via a
vote of 6-0, the Amendment to the previously approved FY2023 CIP.

Thank you for your consideration of these critical project amendments.

x

Matt Sullivan, Community Development Division Director, CIC Secretary
