To the Nashua Board of Alderman,
| am writing regarding the ordinance to keep barriers up again along Main Street for outdoor dining. |
believe it was a wonderful solution to expand the outdoor dining during the Pandemic restrictions to
keep the restaurants in business, however, this is no longer the case.
The proposed ordinance causes hardship for the non-restaurant local businesses on Main Street. With
the barriers up there is no parking for patrons. The barriers impede the safety of walking down our
beautiful street, not to mention the traffic gridlock created by only having 1 lane in each direction.
The city had done a lot over the past several years to beautify Main street but that cannot be enjoyed
when it covered by large barriers. Let the people of Nashua (and the many visitors) be able to walk up
Main Street and stop in at the variety of shops we have.
| am in favor of keeping Main Street with 2 lanes going north and two lanes going south with store front
parking restored permanently. Outdoor dining can still be enjoyed accommodated on the sidewalk in
front of the restaurants while also providing ample space for walking and parking.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
