Hello my name is Carolyn Goodwin I live Nashua at 44 1/2 Harbor Ave. I've lived in Nashua My entire life.
My daughter and [ really main street daily all year long with our pups.

I like to voice my opinion on these jersey barriers. As I understand why it was done two years ago, there hasn't
been a need since then.

Every day we walked last summer not one time was the expanded outdoor dining ever full. The restaurants are
at full capacity now indoors. The restaurants already take 70% off the side walks in the summer for their
outdoor dining making it almost impossible at times to walk by forcing us into the street to walk and try to
avoid cars at the same time.

Last I checked sidewalks are for walking not eating. Roads are for parking and driving not eating in them.

I walk as much as I can to try to stay healthy as I've been battling cancer for 4 years now. I park on Main St so if
I get to tried I can go to my car. I have my handicap hanger to park close if needed.

Taking the parking away is also a huge issue. I'm beginning to feel this city has something against the elderly
and the handicap.

Now let's talk about trying to drive up main street with both lanes it's about al0 Minute drive usually once in
awhile a little longer or shorter.

Now when you take away a lane on each side that drive time goes up to 30 to 40 minutes on average.

What if my daughter or I get hit by a car because you've blocked the sidewalk and now took away the parking
forcing us even more into the road way. How long will we have to wait for help!?!? What if there's a fire on
Main St?? With only one lane it's impossible for emergency vehicles to get by as the cars in the one lane have
no where to go. How would you feel if you had a family member in an ambulance that was stuck on Main St
and died because it couldn't get by?

Last what about all the other businesses that are losing business because there's no where for there customers to
park? Forget the parking garages, not ever person is able to walk from blocks away to go somewhere.

I ended this with the FACT that everything is back to 100% inside with no mask needed anymore asking with
not once last summer was the expanded dining full it isn't needed.

You asked what a good compromise is...

I say the compromise is that the restaurants already have outdoor dining in the summer and made do with that

for years.
They have made do during the winter too so why cause chaos for the entire city for a few restaurants that

already have outdoor dining??

Thank you Carolyn Goodwin
