[ am in favor of continuing the outdoor dining in Nashua for the summer months.
However, there does need to be some changes and management:
- DPW with all good intentions made the whole street look like a construction zone. At one point |
counted over 22 orange cones (not counting those at the Nashua Arts Center); those huge highway
Signs announcing outside dining were unnecessary and really ugly. The downtown needs to be
BEAUTIFUL!
- The barriers were an emergency measure and | assume because of cost we're stuck with
them. While local artists added a nice touch - it would have looked ‘planned’ to have a theme like a
picket fence with flowers along the long stretch of barriers. Also, the directional barriers seemed to
me to be another DPW idea - they were placed at such odd angles, blocking turning onto side
streets. They just were not necessary except where the actual dining takes place.
With the idea that this should make downtown BEAUTIFUL - fix the ugly parts.
So | do support downtown dining.
