Subject: Public Input for Board of Alderman Meeting 25Jan2022

Dear Members of Nashua's Board,
] am emailing in regard to reaffirming the Nashua Mask ordinance on 25Jan2022. I am also respectfully
requesting public comment be allowed on 25Jan2022.
There are a large number of reasons to oppose the reaffirmation of the Nashua Mask ordinance such as
effectiveness of masks, legal authority to mandate masks, impact to businesses, and more. If I tried to cover
everything it would be an exhaustive email, so I want to highlight a few key points below.
The last argument made at the last Nashua Board Meeting stated that our hospitals are bursting at
the seams with COVID patients.
If we take a look at "Tracking Coronavirus in New Hampshire: Latest Map and Case Count”
(https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 1/us/new-hampshire-covid-cases.html) We can sec the following:
¢ November 2nd, 2021 average cases: 397
» December Ist, 2021 average cases: 982
e January Ist, Average cases: 1,326
e January 18th, average cases: 3,493
e January 21st, average cases: 3,128
I would like to understand how face masks had any impact on the average cases reported in the state of NH
since the mask mandate implementation?
We are opening more vaccination centers around the state of NH. When was the last time there were thousands
of people lined up at any vaccination facility? Why are we sending nurses to sit at empty vaccination sites if
staff is limited and our hospitals are struggling? It is not the responsibility of Nashua's citizens to worry about
hospital staffing. Although we support our local hospitals this is not a reason to force compliance to Nashua’s
residents - that is a collectivist mindset.
[tis irresponsible and unethical to assume that cloth masks or face coverings are effective in
preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection. In the last two (2) months, have we seen a decline in
cases? Vaccinated and unvaccinated people are getting COVID and having to go to the hospital.
People who are triple vaccinated are getting COVID. There is no evidence that supports masks
prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection.
