These actions are not acceptable to the Nashua residents. By physically seeing our Aldermen
interface with other Aldermen allows the elected officials to engage face-to-face, verbal and
non-verbal forms of communication that enhance the public’ understating of the business
conducted and allows members of the public to personally address their officials when the
meeting is over. This is an essential part of the public meetings.
To allow the Aldermen to use Video Teleconferencing to be the Presiding Officer and conduct
the meeting is totally unacceptable. This is no way to conduct business for the City of
Nashua.
It would be a tremendous disservice to the Nashua residents if you allow Ordinance O-22-002
to go through. Part of the responsibility to the Nashua residents is to physically have the Board
of Aldermen attend all meetings of the Board of Aldermen and that is why the Nashua
taxpayers pay a stipend to all board members.
