I am totally against the reinstatement of the Mask Mandate.
It appears that our city is trying to put a lot of fear into the Nashua residents, however it is not
going to work this time. Enough already — move on -- Nashua residents want to keep their
freedoms.
The Ordinance actually brings up the fact that 799,000 Americans have died from Covid-19
however you did not bring up the fact that during the Covid-19 pandemic no other deaths were
reported. All deaths were just Covid.
To put a mandate for all businesses but leave restaurants, bars, and clubs open is outrageous. Is
this board telling the Nashua residents that a supermarket is a super spreader but you can sit
next to a person at a bar and have a beer and it is no big deal? Let us be real.
If 1 am not mistaken that is why we have the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of
Rights that gives the Nashua residents the right to do what they want to do and not what the
mayor, Board of Health and the Board of Aldermen tell us to do.
The Nashua Patch had an article on December 18 that actually showed the number of Covid
cases in the City of Nashua. Total regular patient beds were 272 and out of those 49 beds were
for Covid. The ICU beds were 22 with 11 Covid patients. So, to summarize out of the approx.
89,000 residents in the City of Nashua the beds currently used for Covid is 60 beds out of 294
beds. To make it even clearer the mayor, Board of Health and the Board of Aldermen plan on
penalizing approx. 88,940 residents because of 60 cases of Covid which represent .000674% of
the residents. This makes no sense whatsoever.
I can promise you that you will be hurting all businesses again because Nashua residents will go
to other towns to shop. What does this board not understand?
Nashua residents are asking the Board of Aldermen not to put the mask mandate back into the
City of Nashua because this time Nashua residents will not conform to the ordinance.
