| am writing to you concerning Ordinance O-20-018.

jam proposing that you amend Ordinance O-20-018 to include an end date. The end date | would propose is
March 26, 2021 (in coordination with the state end date). You may choose any end date that you wish.

My reasons for this proposal:

1. Every emergency ordinance should have an end date. Emergencies do not go on
forever. Emergencies tend to lead to more perceived emergencies until they just become ‘the new
normal.’ End dates would force you to at least discuss the changes that have occurred since their
inception. For this particular emergency, you started by wanting to flatien the curve, then to find a
treatment, and then to have a vaccine. All of those goals have been achieved. Why then must the
emergency ordinance continue?

2. The population of Nashua in 2019 was 89,355 according to the census bureau. We tragically lost 79
residents. That means that more than 99.9% of Nashua residents have survived this pandemic.

3, There is much conflict information regarding the efficacy of masks.

a. Prior to becoming a celebrity, Dr. Fauci said that masks were a placebo,

b. Many doctors have come out against masks at the risk of the ruin of their careers.

c. Our own Board of Health does not know the long term effects of wearing a mask, especially on
children,

4. Masks promote a general atmosphere of fear in the general public. Is this how we want to raise our
children?

5. There are people like me (I’m sure you have heard from a few) that believe that masks don’t work and
may actually be damaging to our overall health. We also believe in our own immune systems and in
the concept of herd immunity.

a. If the effectiveness of masks is unknown, and someone does not want to wear a mask,
shouldn't they have the freedom to decide for themselves how to keep their own bodies safe?

b. Why should people be forced by the government to do something that they believe will damage
their health in the long run? What gives you the right to make decisions regarding my well-
being? Is this no longer a free country?

6. We have been told by you, our elected representatives:

a. To wear a mask, even though you do not know whether it will damage us in the long run.

b. Not to spend time with friends and family for fear of a virus from which the vast majority of
people recover or are immune.

c. For businesses to become an arm of the government, enforcing rules they may or may not
believe in ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY, in order to avoid fines. When did property rights go
away?

7. We have been laboring under this mandate since May 21, 2020 — over 9 months so far with NO END IN
SIGHT. Isn't that long enough? Or are you waiting for no one in Nashua to be ill? That will never
happen.

8. You are ignoring other effects of your reaction to the virus — have you looked at statistics on alcoholism,
suicide, drug overdose, domestic abuse, depression, the overall effect of ‘virtual education’?
